We have some great new work from some very talented students with a focus on pop art using magazines for collage. Here are some good samples of a project on Pop Art done some years ago by primary students of year 6 and year 7.We looked mainly at examples of the early years of Pop Art in the UK where artists like Richard Hamilton made collages using images cut out of American magazines. For our project we used Australian Fashion magazines to make the collages. The second stage of the project was to scan the collages and then each student worked with the computer program Adobe Photo Shop Elements to manipulate the collages. Students had the freedom to experiment, introducing colours, textures, patterns, lines and whatever they thought they could use to change the original image. View our gallery of children’s works
